Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds are adapted from Joo Ho Min’s comics, costing up to 40 billion won – the highest in Korean movies, attracted 14.4 million people to theaters and helped the producers double in revenue.

The film’s background is set up from hell to the world. After his death, Ja Hong firefighter (Cha Tae Hyun) was taken to meet the hell gods. He is considered a rare pure soul in the human world. Ja Hong is taken by three guards (Ha Jung Woo, Joo Ji Hoon, and Kim Hyang Gi) to go to hell for trial. If he overcomes all challenges, he will be reincarnated instead of being abused like others. The journey is not smoothy because the group is followed by many ghosts. Thereby, the hidden corners of Ja Hong’s life gradually revealed, especially his relationship with his mute mother (Ye Soo Jung).

Ode to My Father is the fourth highest-grossing movie of Korea, attracting 14.3 million people to the theater. The film tells about the life of austere man Huk Jung (Hwang Jung Min) since he was a 10-year-old boy until he got old.

Its events took place in 1950 when 14,000 Korean refugees evacuated by American SS cargo ship Meredith Victory from Hungnam port. When running up to the ship, Duk Soo lost his sister. His father (Jung Jin Young) went back to find his sister and told his son that they would meet at the Knot Bun grocery store in Busan.

For six decades, Duk Soo has done all kinds of jobs to support his family as well as has been looking for his father and sister. Near the end of the film, the audience could not hold back their tears when Duk Soo reunited with his sister living in the US. However, his dating with his father never happened.
